My Art and Where it is Going

Yo, this is my first Blog for my Ceramics III class. This semester I plan on expanding who i am creatively by concentrating heavily on wheel thrown objects as I seem to be more successful with them when I am not bogged down by pending hand built projects which I never have particularly enjoyed. After refreshing my skills, I will have the art of actually making stuff on the wheel down , but its the glazing and finishing touches on my work that I have had trouble with in the past. I hope to improve on that this year, taking influence from artists such as Hideaki Miyamura, who's way of glazing pots i do enjoy very much. I will also be going for the mostly functional use of what I'm making on the wheel, yet still adding very much an aesthetic touch to make them seem like they could be purely for looks, if that makes any sense at all. Overall I'm hoping to improve my skills solely on the wheel and collaborate ideas on how to make stuff with my peers who will also be doing functional pottery.
